Le Musée Maritime de Carantec
The Bay of Morlaix has an intense and rich maritime history. Many families of fishermen, oyster farmers, yachtsmen and boat builders have lived here. The Carantec-Baie de Morlaix Maritime Museum explores these human stories through the prism of boats – whether they were used for work, pleasure or escape.
4 discovery areas:

2) Working boats: Fishing, Oyster farming, Seaweed harvesters
3) Pleasure boats: The Cormoran, Sailing schools, Pleasure boating, Regattas, Shipyards
4) Escape boats: The Sibiril network, Departures from the Bay of Morlaix from 1940 to 1944, The Requin, The de Gaulle family in Carantec
Discover the Aboukir Bay exhibition, a dive into the heart of the Natura 2000 Baie de Morlaix site with :
-Objects recovered from the wreck of the Alcide
-Exhibition on oyster farming
-Shipbuilding in Carantec since the Revolution
-Seaweed harvesting in Callot
-The presence of the DE GAULLE family in Carantec in 1940
-297 people recorded as leaving the Bay of Morlaix for England between June 1940 and February 1944
Open from 15 June to 20 September from 2.30pm to 6.30pm and on request for groups. Closed on Thursdays.
